HYDE's new year message for HYDEIST (2005/01)

The site collected 1500 questions to hyde last year, and he answered some of them kindly--

+Questions regarding the tour 666:

Q: Your 1st solo tour 666 was great! If you have any backstage episode, can you tell us?

HYDE: It was my first solo tour so I wanted to make it success, and as I was the boss, I had big responsibly and duties. And unlike new comers, I have my career so that I couldn’t perform badly. I had to plan and display what I have done in short time. ...So when I played at Budokan, I was angry that the lightings weren’t what I wanted. …However, the tunes I played were quite hard so it was rather effective that way. And also, Furuton easily got cold so I told him that he should manage to maintain his health, but in Niigata, I had a cold. I couldn’t accuse him of catching a cold often since then.

Q: Is there any chance the live to be released in DVD? I’ve often asked what the off-kai in Okinawa was like, but the movie you showed us is hard to explain.

HYDE: I don’t have any plan the live to be released in DVD. It was nice tour so it's pity. Please be happy with the HNK’s broadcast.
The movie I showed you at the hydeist’s off-kai was the clips of the backstage scenes after the live during the tour 666. Everybody was tired, and they didn’t know that they were taken by the camera. There were some scenes made us brush, you know… To respect each members' honour, I don’t want you to tell anybody… If I have a chance to show it again in the future, I'll (edit and) show you better backstage clips then.

Q: Have you found the replacement of the guitar which you broke during the tour 666?

HYDE: I got so excited and broke the main guitar, but I have other 2 spares. The broken guitar is still in repair. I heard that the person who got the guitar for the repair said he had never seen the guitar broken like that and he was happy to fix it, however, it’s been about a year… it hasn’t been back yet…
We have to keep our instruments with more care.

Q: You’ve been working as a solo artist, a member of the band and also as an actor in 2004. What is the secret that you keep working so hard? What do you do to keep so fit?

HYDE: I don’t do anything. At least, I do rehearing well. It might help to keep my body fit. I don’t think I’m tough so anybody can do this. Last year I was so busy and I don’t feel that I had a day-off, (general people has 2 day off every week…) but I’m doing what I want so it helps to keep me going and keep my body fit?

Q: Do you have anything that you wanted to do in 2004 but you didn’t?

HYDE: I couldn’t go out to have drinks with my friends because of my schedule was full of recording, so I’d like to go out and drink with them. And I wanted to design some stuffs… I had to spend my time with my main band so I couldn’t finish those things… I want to have my clone.

Q: You were wearing long extension hair wig in 2004. Are you going to change your hairstyle again?

HYDE: I’m always wearing a wig…* I fed up with long hair a little bit..., what I do next? I have to buy a new wig. I liked that long hair because not many people has that long but I don’t have much time to care it … I have no plan for my hairstyle at moment. Maybe I’ll change it when I feel like it.

(*”I’m always wearing a wig…” / “I have to buy a new wig. “ --He is joking, of course...)

Q: You often told us what you bought last year. What was the best thing you buy in 2004?

HYDE: I don’t know which is the best… It is not that I bought but I got a painting of Kaneko sensei. I’d like to have the oil paintings of Alice, displaying everywhere in my room. That’s my dream at the moment.

Q: I want you to smile all the time. What was the funniest moment you had in 2004?

HYDE: AH~. “From the North Country”(The movie called ???????) was my boom so when we were in Ramen shop in Hakata, during the tour, I said “The child is still eating, (can’t you see?) ”. I didn’t intend to make anyone laugh, but *Hitoshi chan was laughing for 5 minutes, and his laughing made me laugh too. He laughed so much because he was the only person who ate ramen that time.

(*Hitoshi chan = Saito Hitoshi san, the manipulator.)

Q: When did you need to be the most high spirit in 2004?

HYDE:: It probably when I was composing songs for Larc, because I had deadline. I dumped the song that I spent most time… even if you spend a lot of time, some songs can not be completed as you wish… I’ll try to complete it next time.

Q: If you describe the year 2004 in one kanji character, what is it?

HYDE: "Die"( ?). (The year’s gone so fast. If I continue like that, I will die soon.)

+Questions regarding “HYDEIST”:

Q: HYDEIST is not only the place where I can collect information but also I can get energies from so it is so precious place for me. What sort of place is it for you? And do you have anything that you wish us to do?

HYDE: The space, which is protected by the wall of 5800 yen, is not for someone who has only little interests, so I think this is the nice place to keep in touch / communicate with you. I don’t need to worry about craps either. Everyone has different opinions but I can’t ignore that your toughts / opinions because any opinions you give me are all your thoughts from your heart so I can read it with comfort. To be honest, I read letters that I received during the tour without a worry, but letters that arrive at my agency, and messages that posted on other websites’ boards on the Net can use any names, and they sometimes make me heart broken so that I don’t really like it. In here, even everyone has different opinions, you have the same intentions and you try to learn from each other. I think this space is special.

What I want from you is… please don’t say “You left us” too much! As you say that often, I realised that I check it in hurry. I tend to think that I have time now to check but it’s midnight so I better leave it. It's also important that to read messages on the board and go to visit the other chat rooms as well as to chat with you. When the time I left the light on for a long time, I'll post a message on the board so read it the next day.

Q: Is there any words you can give us a "hydeist popular words award"? Or the words you want to make popular?

HYDE: None.

Q: Was the year 2004 satisfying for you?

HYDE: Yes. Within the limited time, I did as much as I could. Although there are some things that I couldn’t have done… I need more time. HYDEIST has almost completed as I planed last year. From now on, I can concentrate on powering up this site. I appreciate all my staffs' efforts to help me. Thank you! I want to be better further this year. Akemashite omedetou. Kotoshimo yoshishiku!
