Re: Creating music together again after 3 years of break

HYDE "I felt that we hadn't seen each other for a long time when we got together first time, but once we started to play together, I felt the same as before. We can switch easily, LArc and solos, what sort of songs are suited for LArc, and what songs are the best."

""SMILE" is very LArc. Even if we hadn't seen for years, or in any situation, we can create the same. Even if we try some new things, it still sounds LArc."

"I'd forgotten some feeling of playing music together, but when we started playing together, I remembered. It was so fresh. It's like a meal you eat everyday. It tastes different when you eat after a while.(laugh)"

"LArc is the band which enjoys chemical reactions. We enjoyed that before and we still enjoy it. When we create music together, the music changes dramatically. It is exciting but sometimes we have to accept other member's different ideas. And each member have to control whether it went too far."

Re: The live at SHIBUYA 7 DAYS, ROCK ODDESSEY and OTAKON

HYDE "I didn't expect much with America. (laugh) I thought they would give us cold eyes but they didn't. They enjoyed our performance. It was so warm that we enjoyed too. We played the same way as we played in Japan. I felt so confident now. "

HYDE "About SIMLE tour, the audience was hot, it made me excited, however, the stage set (lighting, etc) was too much. The audience might enjoyed it but as electric cable connections were more complex than usual, we had to take extra care with it. (laugh) "

Re: Album "SMILE"

HYDE "We created the album with more pure mind than ever"

HYDE: "I made more songs (than usual) for the album. I didn't want to make excuse that I was too busy to write songs. When I have tasks to do, I will complete. (laugh) Once I decided, I make myself do it all. I'm a serious person. (laugh) In my mind, one of me thinks, “somebody will write it”, but the other half of me thinks “ I'm one of the members so I have to do it too”. It brought a good result so it was worth to do."

HYDE: "I made the songs with more pure heart then ever. I always create songs with it but this time, I create songs which only I thought it sounds cool. There was no particular concept in the album. - LArc can't be categorised in one type of music. If the song sounds cool, no one is going to complain it. So I presented songs which only sound good to everybody."

Re: New single"Killing Me"

HYDE "Even though I composed this song, I got confused with the words, didn't know what the message in this song. (bitter smile) I wrote this lyric when "The Last Quarter" began to show in cinema, and I was often thinking about reincarnations and so on. So the lyric became, as you know, as the result."

HYDE "Everybody use the word "love" but what is Love? I think there's no endless love in this world. I don't know why it's lost, but if I die when I'm deeply in love, the love may become endless. I was thinking about the sort of things when I wrote it. The real world is different. We are in peace, but it is not complete peace. We don't have any terrorist act in Japan but I don't think the future is bright. Everyone pretends they don't know that the world would be ended by someone's finger. The words in Killing Me is mixed with love and this world situations."
