[Introduction: The theme of this month's interview is, “talk about your impression of yukihiro”!^^]

Interviewer (Hirofumi Kanematsu san!): This is the first time to see you all. Could you introduce yourself and tell me your impression of yukihiro?

antz (Guitar, formerly known as 'nabe'): Ar? Yukihiro san?

kishi (Guitar): He stepped back from us now. (laugh)

tomo (Guitar): I've known yukihiro san for 10 years. The first time I met him was through our mutual friend but what was it for…?

yukihiro: I wanted create computer music.

tomo: Ahh~~~, yes, yes. (sweat)

yukihiro: I wasn't sure how to do it so I asked my friend, and he introduced you.

Interviewer: What did you talk about?

tomo: He was middle of mixing somthing, so I was only watching it... While Yukiiro kun was making cool sounds ("Kachi! Kachi!") seriously, I was making noise of eating snacks ("Bari! Bari!"). (laugh)

yasuo: I met him 3 years ago, just 10 days before that acid android formed like this at first time. I got a call from my friend and he said yukihiro san was looking for a drummer. I wondered why the drummer was looking for a drummer. Anyway, he said his manager already sent the documentation, and he wanted to talk to me the following day. I remember that I tried to impress him at my best.

kishi: I met him about 5 years ago?

yukihiro: Maybe earlier.

kishi: I was rehearing in a studio with my previous band members and yukihiro san was there. I thought, “Wow, I know him!” We didn't talk much, but we were getting game friends. I like the game called “Devil May Cry” and he had new series. I didn't know him well but I asked if I could play that game. (laugh)

Interviewer: You have nothing to scare. (laugh)

Yukihiro: I'm not scary. (laugh)

kishi: After that, yukihiro san came to see my band's live. And we talked about the games too.
Then I got a phone call from him, asked me if I can join the rehearsal of his band.
I couldn't go immediately but I got there hours later. He had only 3 days for rehearing for the live, so as soon as I arrived there, he gave me a pile of documents of his songs … I remembered more than 10 songs in one day, and make it formed in a short time … and then played live…

antz: I'm (was?) doing a band called DEF MASTER, and when I finished the live in Kawasaki Club Chitta and returned to the back stage, yukihiro san was there. (That was the first time I met him.)
After a while, I got a call from him about the band. He is senior and I was not confident at first but I'm getting used to it.

Interviewer: How do you feel about playing drums in the band which the front man is also a drummer?

yasuo: It's a great pressure! But it's an honour to be called by the drummer.

yukihiro: It's my intuition.

yasuo: Intuition!? (laugh)

yukihiro: I thought you could play cool drums.

yasuo: Reminds me of the day of my audition... It was very complicated drum phrase (I had to play) so that I made mistakes, and I had a lot of sweat. (laugh)

Interviewer: Of course!

kishi: I felt so strange to be with someone who is often seen on TV or other media. (As I know him well,) I found he was a human like us too! (laugh)
In a family restaurant (- serves cheap meals and open until very late / for 24 hours), he orders the same menu like we order!

yukihiro: Did you think I was a cyborg (machine)?

yasuo: Or eat stones?

(Everyone laughed)

antz: You might be normal musically but not normal at my standard. The ideas he came up with always make me stunned.

tomo: ...when it turned into a song, it formed by certain messages, with something unusual substance. It's cool, too. That is so stimulating.

kishi: He is God.

antz: God! (Note- Calling someone 'God' is quite popular among Japanese youngs lately.)

Interviewer: Kill him with parises? (-Give too many praises.) How about you, tomo san?

tomo: I'm a long friend of yukihiro kun but I might be the most nervous person of you all.

Interviewer: I want to know your impression of yukihiro san today~

yukihiro: You haven't said that yet…okay, I'll go first! tomo kun is very serious guy. We used different recording method this time, and we had to take the 2 perfect guitar phrases for the loop part for the first song. To take that, he spent 2 weeks! (laugh)

yasuo kun is playing drums. Always. (laugh)

yasuo: Simply, acid android's songs are difficult, so I'm practising by myself. (laugh)

yukihiro: His details are better than mine. There's no such tune in acid android but when he is practising by himself, I sometimes hear the phrases that I don't know how to play. (laugh)

Interviewer: How about kishi kun?

yukihiro: He is kawaii! (laugh) He is very good at playing games, and I can't win over him. He is great. In the game “Devil May Cry”, you have to knock down the enemies, and he can use the skills that I've never seen!

Interviewer: Have you learned the special skills from him?

yukihiro: Yes I have.

kishi: It's not like “I can play such difficult guitar phrase! Please listen!”, it's rather.. clearing the game, bring down the memory card to him, and say “Please watch this!”

Interviewer: lol

yukihiro: I know antz kun quite long time… his taste of music, and the standard of what is cool / not cool is very close to mine. It's not only one type of music but the most.

kishi: It sounds like I'm only a gamer. (laugh)

Interviewer: Don't you have any criticism? (you have only praise?)

yukihiro: Yes, let's talk more. (laugh)

Other members: (bitter laugh)

tomo: I want you to get more sunshine.(laugh)

antz: ...And the eating habit too... Don't you think?

kishi: Yes, I agree!

antz: He is not interested in eating most. He is like someone who forgot eating and realised it only before going to sleep.

tomo: Once he got into something, he forgot eating. In a rehearsal, I got hungry but yukihiro kun looked no intention of going to eat… (laugh)

Interviewer: you can't say you are hungry (in front of yukki) (laugh)

tomo: I said quietly (laugh) … but everyone are rehearsing… so I have to too... - ganbaro!^^;

yukihiro: I don't have an interest in eating, really. People say 'Clothes-Eat-Live' but it's 'Live-Clothes-Eat' for me.

yasuo: As a drummer, I thought it was weird to see the drummer who plays drums wearing a lot of bangles (accessories) in his wrist. (laugh)

On the top of that, he is wearing jeans and trainers. There's not many drummers like him.

Interviewer: You praise him again..

yasuo: Not a praise, I think it's weird!

Everyone: Ahahaha!!!

yasuo: It's weird, isn't it?

yukihiro: Ahahaha!!!

antz: And I want more relaxing mood during recording..

yukihiro: The schedule was so tight, and the last half of the recording was crazy.

antz: You looked exhausted at the last half, saying that you had heat in your head... You were using your brain all day and night, so it's no wonder.

Interviewer: Did you use yukihiro san's own studio?

yukihiro: Yes. After fishing the day's recording, tell them the time of the next recording, send them off, and then I start cleaning the studio.

Everyone: Ahahahahah!!!

kishi: Sometimes, Yukihiro san brought up the vacuum cleaner and start cleaning the floor in a waiting time.

yukiiro: Because it's my home.(laugh)
