~Nostalgia~

The thing I was impressed most was...
In Japan, 8 o'clock in the evening is pretty dark.
As I followed the sun by airplane…
I found that it was bright at 9 o'clock pm, or even at 3 am.
It was amazing. And shocking.

I didn't like children. I don't mind cheeky ones, precocious, or hyper kids but I don't want to stay with them for long time. However, I feel different recently. They are actually cute. (laugh) Every time I see kids, I feel, “Oh, he/she is cute!” It's not that I want a kid. Even some ugly kids look cute when he/she looks resemble his/her parents.

I went to Café the other day and there were a dad and his kid. While they were waiting for their meal to come, they posed the same - they put their elbows on the table, holding their face with their hands and looking outside the window. (laugh)

That sort of scenery is very pretty.

I've been to Morocco, from mid Sep (for a video shooting).

I knew that it would be hot… but… when we arrived and went out the airport, it was cool! (laugh) I thought, ‘how lucky we are!' (He actually said, ''it is nice weather for working!') The airport was in country side. We got on a bus to get to Casablanca. The city center was busy. Before flying to Morocco, I saw the movie Casablanca to study about that city, but unfortunately, there wasn't many scenes of the streets in the movie so it was not useful.

We arrived there at night time. People on the street looked nasty. (laugh) The place looked like a slum, and all the people looked like thieves. It was scary.

The place we had a video shoot located far south, where it takes 8 hours by bus. It
The place was extremely hot, and dry! My lips got dried so easily.

In the town on the way to get there, I saw blind old people asking for money with their grandson(s) / grand daughter(s).
More people were hiding their faces than people in Casablanca.

We stayed 1 night in Casablanca and 2 nights in the town on the way to the place for shooting. We went to the town called Marrakech. The place was for sightseeing so many Europeans were in the hotel. It was like a resort. Many hotels have a pool(s) so I felt like I was on holiday too. There was no office building, but many stalls and entertainers on the street. I saw a snake charmer. (laugh) But I didn't watch well because I was not sure the sytem. In Japan, street entertainers usually offer what they can do at XXX yen. There, people pull me, take me to their own place to show what they can do, and then asking for money. They look as if I have to pay because I saw it! I rather stay relax in the hotel room than hassles like this…(laugh)

When you are walking around Marrakech, you will see so many people come up and ask to buy their goods, mainly accessories, like bracelets... ah, an old woman selling bracelets was horrible… She wanted to sell cheap bracelets at silver price. She repeated “Silver” in poor English, and tried to sell it to me! ...Yes, I bought it. The old woman cheated on me. (laugh) I thought it was cheap if it was real silver! The design was my taste. Techan knows well about accessories so I showed it to him. He immediately said it was not genuine! (laugh <*tears?^o^) At first, I was told 100DH, that's about 1,000 yen so I negotiated to buy at 50DH. The old woman got angry and tried to persuade me her accessories were real silver, with rubbing them on the ground… so, I believed her. The bracelet was decorated with a sheep's head, and when you look at it carefully, you can see the head was a bit twisted. I tried to move a little to replace the position, then.. it broke! (the head was removed.^^;) I gave it to one of our staff. (laugh)

...We had same meal every day, in every place; salad and meat. The meat wasn't so nice. In the morning, we had bread, but salad and meat at lunch and dinner. As it repeated, I got a homesick day by day. We went to Chinese restaurant near the day I go back to Japan, though it was pointless. (laugh)

We went down far south from Marrakesh to Warusazado. I could see horizon over the huge wasteland. A hotel, which was surrounded by high walls, was in the middile of the wasteland. I wondered once if that was a real. The gate of the hotel was huge. And the room, too. I shared a room with ken chan. The place we had a video shoot was the old castle which located 20 mins by bus from that hotel. The castle looked empty but several families were actually living there. The shooting took 3~4 days. It was extremely hot and dry, so I got suntan. It's been 10 years since I got last time. Sunscreen location was totally useless.

There was a swimming pool in the hotel as well, but we decided not to get in until the shooting finishes in case of someone catching infections. When the shooting finished, we got in the pool immediately! It's also been 10 years since I swam last time. I can't swim well. I do doggy style swimming. (laugh) I tried to swim the crawl, though.
I looked okay in my swimming pants too. (laugh)

In the movie, there was a scene ken chan rub a cat. Everyone agreed it, however, there was no cat! So I said, “Okay, I'll make it! I'll make it until tomorrow!” (laugh)
I picked up a wood and carve it! It wasn't a plan so I had to borrow tools from someone there. The cat was about the size of my palm. I spent my time carving. Every night. Sakura also likes it so he carved it too. Why cat? We release a video of our short stories in December. And a cat is appearing in Ken's movie.

I like art. I don't often carve but I have an a guitar which I'm still carving from a wood. The name of the guitar is “hyde guitar” (laugh) It's done only 10%. I've been carving the body part with my carving knifes for almost 3 years. It will take another 5 years probably because I only do when I feel like it.

I realised that I didn't have many picture of myself. So I started to collect it 5 years ago. Live photographs are not something I want. I've been many places on tour. I want the pictures that can tell I was there. Look! I always have a instant camera. (He took it out from his bag.) I want a proper camera but I wasn't sure which one is the best. In Morocco, ken chan had a good camera so I got a lot of pictures. (Laugh) I suggested to him, “Let's take pictures of all the hotel rooms in Morocco!” So I have a lot of pictures which are ken chan and me together. (laugh)

I bought some souvenirs before going back to Japan. You know the bracelet that the old woman sold me, also the one I broke the head of sheep, - I bought new one again. And I heard the chess board made of marble was cheap so I bought it, too …that's it. I wanted to buy Moroccan music cassette tapes for all other friends but I lost my pause.(!) I don't know it was stolen, or I dropped it somewhere. It just disappeared. So I gave up (to buy music tapes). (laugh)
As the result I only bought souvenirs for myself. (laugh)
I didn't get any trouble because it happened at the last day.

What's in my mind after coming back from Morocco?
I'm used to living here so I feel relax, but at the same time, I realised that I'm losing something in here.

Also, I felt that children are better to grow up in countryside than city… Children were more innocent in countryside. I say, 'Even their skin are dark, their mind are white.' I went down to South (from Casablanca) you remember? Children are pretty in South, but children in town (city) were… greedy, I thought.

What was the most fun in there? That's probably the day we got into the swimming pool! I had a good laugh. I didn't laugh that much for a long time.

I have 2 friends who are friends from primary school. One of them is married, and the other is going to get married soon! I'm really looking forward to it.
When I heard they were going to get married, I thought “At last!” because they've been together for a long time. It will be a friend gathering that I called. (laugh) He is a main person among us. I asked his girlfriend what she wants for their wedding, and she answered, 'a hanging wall clock', so I'm going to get one. I must buy very good clock, because we use these things for our lifetime.

Half of my old friends are married already… I think I'll get married rather late, probably 5 years later. I think the decision that you make 'to marry someone' is wonderful. Marriage is a ceremony for two persons who live together, isn't it? The decision to make, “I'm going to live with her until I die.” that's so wonderful.

There are people who are single all his life… but I don't want to be like one of them. (laugh) I feel pity for my parents. Parents normally look forward to see grand son / daughter, aren't they? And I don't want to be alone when I get old. (laugh) Once I get married, I'll be with her until I die. So I want to have a wedding. (-He meant he'd like to get married rather than not to get married but living together for a long time.) I can't think about it in light way. And I want a happy family…

I think there are only few couples; maybe one in 10 or even 20 couples are living happily for a long time. I know those couples among my friends and families… I wanna have that too.

I don't mind if my wife is working, but I want her to look after the children, cook meals, clean the house and wait for me. I'm probably a bossy type at home.
Okay, I'll pretend I'm not, and support her when she needs...

I want 2 kids, and I'll attend their sport event together with my wife. (laugh^^)

If it's a girl, I'll bring her up with tender care (He said, ' ' - In England, 'A girl who has been kept in cotton wool all her life.' ), I'll keep her at home and I won't let her marry. (laugh) If it's a boy, I'll bring him up freely and will let him do any thing he wants. Their name? Common name for girl and old type name for boy. Boy's name should be something easy to call, and cheerful one.
I think marriage is the most important job I have to do in my life. And I shouldn't make a mistake either. (laugh)

I want to be happy if I have to spend my life with someone together.

I have a dream for making my life. (laugh) It will be 5 years later, so it's about the year 1999.
